Important District 42 Update!

District 42 Parents, Players, Coaches and Volunteers:

You may have heard or read that our County Board of Supervisors have been working on the reopening plans for our area. On Tuesday, May 19, the board approved an accelerated Stage 2 plan and a pilot Stage 3 plan to be sent to the state Department of Public Health for approval. The Stage 3 plan is of particular interest to District 42 and all sports as it includes language for limited sports league activities.

While the proposed county plan requires state approval, it can allow for limited resumption of Little League practices. Safety and protection of everyone potentially engaging in these activities is the number one priority. Your league presidents and District 42 staff are developing safety protocols and procedures to implement at all sites ahead of a potential resumption of practice.

These protocols will be restrictive (access to players, access to practice site, number of players allowed, food/drinks), supports social distancing (keep players apart, no celebratory contact), safety and sanitation enforcement (personal protection equipment as appropriate, cleaning and sanitizing equipment and site). Additional player registration documents will also be developed to ensure adherence to local Public Health and Safety protocols. As stated previously, the protocols we develop will be to protect the safety of everyone.

Please note that our protocol document is subject to approval from county Public Health. The examples provided are just some of the items to address, but are not the final items.

We will continue to keep you posted on the resumption efforts for our District. In the meantime, remain focused on staying safe and healthy! We want you back to play ball!
