Welcome to Luckie Waller Little League!


We're excited to have your child join our baseball community this Spring! Below is some helpful information to guide you in selecting the right program for your player. Please read through the descriptions to find the best fit for their age and experience level.

What You Need to Know

 

  • Uniforms: Players will be provided with a team jersey and cap. The league will also have team helmet and bats.
  • Coaching: Our league is always looking for volunteers to coach or assist with teams. No experience required — just a love for the game and a desire to help young players learn!
  • Registration Fee: The registration fee covers uniforms, league fees, field maintenance, insurance, and additional league expenses.
  • Season Duration: The Spring season typically runs from February to June, with a mid-season break. Games and practices are scheduled depending on weather and field availability.

T-Ball Division (Ages 4-6)


Program Overview:
T-Ball is designed for our youngest players who are just beginning to learn the fundamentals of baseball. This program emphasizes fun, skill development, and teamwork. Players will learn the basic rules of the game, including how to hit the ball, run the bases, and catch.
Key Features:
  • No prior experience required
  • Focus on learning the basics of the game
  • Introduction to teamwork and sportsmanship
  • Games played with a tee, not pitched
  • Parent involvement is encouraged during practices

Practice & Game Schedule:
  • 1-2 practices per week
  • 1 game during the week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) and 1 game on Saturday

Caps Division (Ages 6-8)


Program Overview:
Caps (Coach/Machine Pitch) is perfect for players who have a basic understanding of baseball and are ready for more advanced skills. Players will begin learning how to hit pitches from a coach and/or a pitching machine, improve their fielding abilities, and develop a greater understanding of the game.
Key Features:
  • Focus on improving skills like throwing, catching, and hitting
  • Introduction to live pitching from a coach/pitching machine
  • Emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, and having fun
  • Games are still fast-paced but with an emphasis on learning

Practice & Game Schedule:
  • 1-2 practices per week
  • 1 game during the week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) and 1 game on Saturday
  • League playoffs at the end of the season

Minor A (Ages 7-8)


Program Overview:
The Minor A Division is for players who have some experience with baseball and are ready for more competitive play. Players will work on developing their individual skills while learning more advanced game strategies and team concepts. Live pitching is introduced, and players will start playing more structured games.
Key Features:
  • Live pitching, with players pitching to each other
  • Focus on building baseball IQ (rules, strategy, etc.)
  • Scorekeeping and standings
  • Encourages skill development through practice and games
  • Game play includes more detailed offensive and defensive strategies

Practice & Game Schedule:
  • 2 practices per week
  • 1 game during the week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) and 1 game on Saturday
  • League playoffs at the end of the season

Minor B (Ages 9-11)


Program Overview:
The Minor B Division is for players who have played Minor A and are ready for more competitive play. Players will continue to work on developing their individual skills while learning more advanced game strategies, team concepts and more structured games. Teams are selected through a draft.
Key Features:
  • Live pitching, with players pitching to each other
  • Focus on building baseball IQ (rules, strategy, etc.)
  • More competitive, with scorekeeping and standings
  • Encourages skill development through practice and games
  • Game play includes more detailed offensive and defensive strategies

Practice & Game Schedule:
  • 2 practices per week
  • 1 game during the week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) and 1 game on Saturday
  • League playoffs at the end of the season

Majors Division (Ages 10-12)


Program Overview:
The Majors Division is designed for players who have played Minor B and are ready for a higher level of competition. At this level, players are expected to demonstrate solid baseball skills, and games are played with more strategy and intensity. Teams will be formed through a draft system, and players are placed based on skill level.
Key Features:
  • Live pitching, with players pitching to each other
  • More complex offensive and defensive strategies
  • Higher level of competition with league standings and playoffs
  • Players will learn more advanced skills like base running, positioning, and team communication
  • Regular season games and potential for postseason play

Practice & Game Schedule:
  • 2 practices per week
  • 1 game during the week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) and 1 game on Saturday
  • League playoffs at the end of the season

Intermediate Division (Ages 11-13)

 

Program Overview:
Intermediate League is for players who are ready to transition into more advanced baseball concepts. The field size is larger, and the level of play is more intense, with players focusing on refining their skills and learning more complex strategies. This division is a stepping stone for players who are preparing for high school baseball.
Key Features:
  • Full-sized field (50/70) with leading off and stealing bases
  • Advanced pitching and hitting mechanics
  • Focus on strategy and game situations
  • Encourages leadership and sportsmanship

Practice & Game Schedule:
  • 1 or 2 practices per week
  • Games typically on Sundays
  • Possible postseason play

Junior & Senior League (Ages 13-16)


Program Overview:
This division is for our older players and is ideal for those preparing for high school or beyond. The competition is intense, and players are expected to have a strong grasp of the game. Teams are selected through a draft, and the focus is on preparing players for the next level of competitive baseball.
Key Features:
  • Full-sized field with advanced rules
  • Focus on competitive play, with a high level of skill development
  • Introduction to more advanced pitching strategies and techniques
  • Emphasis on teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship
  • Possible travel games and league playoffs

Practice & Game Schedule:
  • 2 practices per week
  • Games typically on weekdays and weekends
  • End-of-season playoffs and tournament opportunities
